Hello Readers!

This week has been full of big feelings. On Tuesday, we packed up Sophie, her pup Bella, and a tiny U-Haul trailer for the long drive to Clemson, SC to begin Sophie’s senior year.

Our last kid. Our last year of college.

I am utterly mystified by the passage of time.

The college years with all three of our kids have been an impossibly sweet surprise I never saw coming. I didn’t have a traditional college experience—I lived at home and commuted to a local college, putting myself through school by working as a hostess at a restaurant. Beyond academics, everything about college life was a new experience, not only for my kids, but for me.

I never imagined the way it would infuse our lives with a meaningful rhythm for memory making. I had no first-hand knowledge of family weekends or tailgating parties or Greek life or the pageantry of football games or the pleasure of exploring a small college town.
