Books I Read This Spring
3 nonfiction titles and a series I adored
Hello Readers!
If you’re still looking for a few good reads to add to your beach bag, get your library card ready to put this stack on hold. Today, I’m sharing all the books I read this Spring, and I hope you find one to add to your TBR.
One of my goals this year was to scroll less and read more. I haven’t been as successful as I hoped, but I’m recommitting to setting a 20-minute timer to read before I pick up my phone in the evening. The dopamine scroll has been a hard habit to break, but I’m not giving up yet! Reading remains my first love—I just need to remind my brain of that every once in a while.
On to the books!
Nonfiction:
The Place Between Our Pains by KJ Ramsey
Beautiful prose, written with vulnerability, humor, and great empathy for herself and others who live with health challenges. KJ’s story of chronic illness and suffering doesn’t shy away from pain, but it also invites readers into her hard-fought joy, wisdom, and wit.
I’ve read all of KJ’s books (The Lord is My Courage was a life-changing read for me), and this memoir is a bit of a departure from her previous work (the language is spicier, the theology is evolving). However, I loved it and always welcome the evolution of artists as they continue to grow in their work, their faith, their understanding of themselves and the world around them.
