Hello Readers!
A few years ago, I enrolled in a year-long spiritual formation course with Coracle. It was one of the richest, most spiritually nourishing years of my life. Coracle offers weekly sessions called Space for God on Tuesday mornings—they’re free and each week has a different guide with a specific theme or purpose.
I don’t attend the sessions often, but last week I joined spiritual director Margot Eyring for her session on beauty. She led us through an exercise that felt fruitful to me, so I thought I’d share it here and my response to her prompts.
I hope you’ll find it meaningful and consider trying it yourself! Unfortunately, I didn’t write down the name or many of the details of the practice, but I think you’ll get the gist of it from my description. All credit to Coracle and Margot for the following spiritual practice.
To begin, Margot asked us to sit in front of a window, preferably one with window panes, and gaze outside. We chose a singular pane to look through, and after responding to her prompts, we chose a second window pane, and then a third pane through which we watched life outside and responded to what we saw.
