I love this story Kimberly. It is a great reminder to be careful to focus on what is good and beautiful while still making space to grieve what was lost.

It was our conversation that prompted me to write it! Thanks for the inspiration.

I’m definitely still in process of leaving room for grief while deliberating on all the goodness of my life. Prone to melancholy, the heaviness of grief almost feels more comfortable if not natural for me. I’m encouraged by this moment you’ve shared with us here and the capacity we have to change, heal, and grow.

Melancholy feels comfortable to me too, but I'm ready for other emotions to feel comfortable too. I hope healing and joy find you too.

I laughed out loud at "someone explain the 80's" when you mentioned your bangs;)

Was so good for me to read this today. Earlier this week I visited my 91 year old aunt and we looked at old photos and greeting cards that my mother (her sister) had saved that were from me to her or her to me. So many good memories came back to me and filled me with gratefulness for God's goodness and faithfulness. Thank you for sharing from your heart and life, Kimberly:)
